Coming Back

2 min read
Its been awhile since I've been online and even longer since I posted a journal so lets go over some basics about the direction of this account. I may go back to doing some work more in line with my older drawings and vector work however I'm more interested in pursuing a career in wildlife photography and that will be the focus of the account. Right now I'm between jobs and I have a lot of time to commit to my artwork so look forward to seeing more photos from this account in the near future. I can't guarantee my output will keep up going into the summer since I will be working this summer even if its just a seasonal state park job but we'll see. Below I have outlined a few goals for this account in the coming months.

1.    Over the past year I've been taking a lot of pictures between my time as a park aide at Blake Island State Park and coming home to Oregon in September, however since I fell out of the habit of posting pictures around spring I've been working as much as I should be on getting my work out there. This is something I plan to change by posting a photo from my backlog everyday until I run out of Photos worth posting or life gets in the way.

2.    I hope to further engage with the community on DA, as such I plan to put a journal out every week, preferably on Thursday.

3.    I plan to diversify my subject matter for photos, Since I do own a macro-lens you can look forward to some more critter pictures in the future.

Camping

so tomorrow I'm heading out to the marble mountains with a couple of friends on a camping trip. Should be fun under prepared and over eager is this best way to make fun memories, remember its not the trips where everything goes right that people remember.

anyways the marble mountains are part of the Klamath mountains and consist of marine limestone that has been uplifted, well I haven't seen a geological map of the area personally my guess judging by the geology of Southern Oregon would be that the rock layers in the area date back to the late cretaceous. According to wikipedia these mountains have the highest level of biodiversity in California, hosting seventeen different coniferous species of trees.

the future

Since school started I haven't really felt like working on any more ornithological pictures, so I'm just going to post random things as random ideas occur to me. So far schools been going well, alot of what I'm having to do this term is mineral identification and work with topomaps so its fairly easy. have to make a earthquake plan and a make a write up for every oxide mineral but that should be fairly easy.

so I feel like I need to get away from fan-art for quite awhile, and instead will be trying to get something more original up every day for awhile. my main focus right now is to improve my tool use in inkscape with illustration of various birds, until I run out of them members of the genus Piranga will be put up on Tuesday and the rest of the week will be up for grabs by any member of an avian group, might try and do falcon Fridays.

so yeah... projects

dungeons and Disney has only one more princess to go to finish with the "official" princesses, afterwards I may go back and transform other disney characters into monsters.

my little mythos is an off and on again project, I have at least one more planned in the immediate future, but I'm most likely going to wait until season 3 to start pouring on the ponies.

left 4 care, could probably be down by the end of October, the problem I'm having is that it requires me to watch care bears which is quite literally torture.
